Who writes this
Outdoor & Coastal Home is written and maintained by Badreddine Br, based on the Gold Coast. This isn't a large editorial team — it's one person researching real ideas for Australian coastal and outdoor living, then writing up what actually holds up and what doesn't. How we research and write
Every guide is built around the reality of Australian outdoor living: coastal salt exposure, council fire and building rules, and the fact that our outdoor spaces are used year-round rather than as an occasional-summer afterthought. Prices and retailers are checked against Australian sources — Bunnings, Temple & Webster, Kmart, Adairs, Beacon Lighting, Freedom, IKEA Australia — rather than converted from US or UK content.
We use AI-assisted tools to help with research, drafting, and editing efficiency. Every piece of advice, every price, and every product recommendation is reviewed by a human before publishing — nothing goes live unchecked.
Product recommendations
We recommend specific products because they're genuinely useful for Australian coastal and outdoor homes, not because of a paid placement. If a post ever contains a sponsored product or affiliate link, it will be clearly disclosed at the top of that article. As of now, this site does not run affiliate links or sponsored content.
Corrections and updates
Prices, retailer stock, and product availability change. If you spot something outdated or incorrect, let us know — we update posts when we confirm an error, and note significant changes in the post's "last updated" date rather than silently editing published claims.
What we don't do
- We don't publish staged, unrealistic "after" photos we haven't actually recreated in a real Australian home.
- We don't inflate prices or omit cheaper alternatives to make a paid product look better.
- We don't accept payment in exchange for a positive review.
